Today, in many families, generation gap between a young person and his or her parents seems a problem. My close friend is in such a difficult problem because of some reasons mentioned below. First, his parents think that they are more experienced. The older the people are, the more perspicacious people are. They believe their decisions are always more judicious than their children’s. For example, my friend wanted to study history at university, but his parents with their own experiences didn’t accept this because they thought he could not find a good job with history major. Second, young people are more broad-minded. My friend often has more broad-minded ideas than his parents. And these make them uncomfortable. Whereas going out after 9 p.m is normal to him, his parents think this is not good. The parents considered suggestive clothes as indecent things, but to the son, these are fashion. Finally, young people are often superficial. Their parents sometimes do something good for them, but they don’t like. My friend’ parents, for instance, asked him to do morning exercises in the morning, and he thought this was punishment to get up early. For these reasons, many families today get troubles by generation gap.
